The images created
in oil were done in the Basic Painting class at Cerro Coso. Here they are placed in
succession of creation. I enjoyed a definite improvement in the style and quality of
my work over the course of the semester. The last painting is still somewhat a work
in progress, as it is highly detailed and has taken many hours to develop. As with
much of my art I enjoy the art of realism and I believe this is evident in the oil
paintings. The watercolor images are my first attempt at the use of the media and
therefore I have not yet developed a style or have really come close to mastering the art
of watercolor, but I have found my limited use of the media enjoyable and have found that
I am able to have a freedom with it is style that I have not yet been able to
achieve in
other media.

| Having gaining a
knowledge of the hours and work that goes into creating a work in oil, I have found that I
have a much greater respect for oil paintings now. |
